ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Acute infection
• Acute fever
• Acute worsening of a chronic condition
• Acute headache
• The first trimester of pregnancy
• Congenital intolerance to hypoxia

RELATIVE CONTRAINDICAITONS

• Heart defects (e.g. with arteriovenous shunt or high-grade mitral or aortic stenosis)
• Pletora
• Chronic disease in advanced stages
• Thalassemia
