THE UNDERCURRENT:BUILDING ATHLETES - NEUROLOGICAL APPROACH TO TRAINING

John Nelson, the visionary founder of Elite Level Performance (ELP). In this engaging session, we explore John's remarkable journey, which began with his personal battle with significant back trouble during his high school years. This struggle included the discovery of a tumor on his lumbar spine, a challenge that profoundly shaped his future endeavors.

Despite these early setbacks, John channeled his experiences into a passion for helping others, ultimately leading to the creation of a comprehensive, multi-service facility dedicated to optimizing athletic performance. This facility has become a beacon for aspiring athletes, particularly the top-tier baseball players in the greater Memphis area, who seek to elevate their game to new heights. Our conversation takes a deep dive into the cutting-edge techniques that John employs, revealing how these innovative methodologies are not only enhancing movement and performance but are also revolutionizing the way athletes train and compete.

We delve into a thorough discussion on the application of neurological techniques designed to calm nociceptive responses, which are crucial for reducing pain perception and enhancing muscle activation. These techniques are pivotal in refining movement patterns, leading to significant improvements in athletic performance. Additionally, we explore the evolving landscape of strength training, where the focus is shifting towards holistic, full-body movements, moving away from traditional, isolated lifts. This approach is complemented by the integration of the Neubie device, a state-of-the-art tool that works in harmony with advanced systems of assessment, activation, movement, and mobility. This integration is setting new standards in athletic training, offering athletes a comprehensive framework to achieve peak performance.

Join us for an in-depth exploration of these advanced training techniques and discover the profound impact they are having on John’s athletes, transforming their capabilities and setting new benchmarks in the world of sports performance.
